A day in life of…..Dipti Dadhich

Dipti is the General Manager- Sales at Arrow Aviation. She takes care of Jet Aviation sales in India and supports Gulfstream and HondaJet sales.

The day begins with…

My day starts with a glass of warm water with lemon and ginger to wake me up instantly, which is followed by a session at my Gym. I love lifting weights and do that at least thrice a week. Early morning exercising keeps me stress free the whole day.

Once that is over, my each day varies completely. Due to the nature of my work and geographical area I look after, each day is unique in its own way, which is why I really enjoy my job. Typically I am on my desk by 9.30am to clear down my emails and then checking on the appointments I have lined up for the day.

I try to arrange my appointments a day or two in advance and my travel plans at-least 2-3 days prior to travel date, but as it goes Sales cannot be timed, due to customer availability and convenience many a time it’s spontaneous.
Then I start selling. Making calls, spending time in front of clients, tackle follow up on leads or opportunities.

My work also requires that I spend couple of hours of the day on getting up to speed – information and checking where I stand, understanding any new market trends, new developments, gathering market intelligence, competition, global news and new regulations locally as well as globally which might impact General Aviation.

At the end of the day I go over the reports and set up for the next day, arranging my travel plans and sending out important emails covering any required details from the day.

Evenings..

Evenings are generally spent with family, if I am not traveling for work, or with friends. I love to read, I keep switching from fiction to non-fiction and vice-versa depending on my mood and how the day went. Being in Sales, a dose of self motivation is sometimes required, which I pick up from the books I read.

I enjoy what I do..

I like my work as it keeps me on the go, forces me to think logically, creatively. Study different industries, their trends, look at the existing customers, the new ones and work with an instinct. The more I move around, the more I meet my customers the more I enjoy my work. It’s been 8 years in General Aviation and it’s been a roller coaster ride for me!
